I have so far won a trip to Tanzania on Safari with Rough Guides, trip is booked for August next year and we can't wait. Never been on anything like it before, and never ever expected to win anything like this. I was absolutely gobsmacked when I received the e-mail, I actually rang them to check they weren't lying. I have also won a fashion trip to London, a limited edition bottle of Cointreau designed by Catherine Malandrino and lots of smaller comps for coffee, perfume and a crystal key chain. My family can't wait to hear of my next win and I hope they continue to come. Normal people do win, I can prove it. This is a picture of me and my husband Pete taken when we went to Croydon on Sunday to take “delivery” of a new Mini First...Like probably many other CBW readers, I enter competitions and then forget about them – I don’t very often do the text message comps because of the cost but with a car as the prize I thought it worth a go.  Then just before Christmas my mobile rang and a voice said “Do you remember entering a competition to win a mini?”  I had forgotten actually but said Yes expecting them to say well you haven’t won the car but you’ve won something a lot less fun, but lo and behold, the voice said “Well we are pleased to tell you that your entry was successful and you have won the Mini!”  I managed not to scream down the phone – partly because I was in shock and partly because I was in my office at work!  I immediately phoned Pete and he was very impressed.  He has always tolerated my competition entering ever since I won a Safari holiday thirty years ago but most of my prizes since then have been little ones until now, although I did win a 4 day holiday in Portugal again through the Simply Prizes magazine.  

Anyway it all went quiet for a month or two apart from me having to choose between a red, white or blue car (as you can see I chose Chilli red) but then it hotted up again with me being contacted by the garage to ask when I could go over and collect my prize.  At that point, I went into negotiation mode, as we didn’t really need a new car (although we were seriously tempted) and I managed to persuade the garage that we would all benefit if they bought the car straight off me.  So on Sunday I had a few minutes sitting in the car having my photo taken for the Daily Express, then went inside and signed the car over to the garage and received a nice little cheque from them.

All my colleagues were very impressed that someone does actually win these competitions and perhaps it may encourage them to enter more – as I keep telling them you don’t win anything unless you enter.

I always thought that other people win.. today we have had a cheque for £250 from the  local paper, last week we had a massive snazaroo halloween face painting kit, a motorcycle news baseball cap, and some mascara and eyemakeup kit... thanks.. I wouldn't have entered if it hadn't been for the coffee break team giving me the will to win!!!

Here's a photo of some of my winnings.  In the picture are: Peppa Pig Draw and Drive game, Peppa Pig Tumble and Spin game, Destination: Isle of Wight Game, Toshiba portable DVD player, Nintendo DS Lite & game, Kerrygold butter and cool bags (I had 6 butters and 2 cool bags), Alan Titchmarsh CD (yes, really!!), Princess Protection Programme DVD and a cheque for £200. I am holding two letters, one is confirmation of a two night DBB break for a family of four at any QHotel, and the other is from the Daily Express regarding my PS3 Slimline win.
 
There are some items I have won that aren't included. These are 1 box Hi-Life cat food sachets, 1kg bag Royal Canin Cat biscuits, 1 cat Christmas stocking (my cat has already eaten these!), Trip to Blue Reef Aquarium in Portsmouth for a family of four (already used), Rendition on DVD and A DK Nature Ranger Book.
 
I haven't yet won a 'big' prize but as my boys are two and four, my husband and I can't dash off on a mini break without them and I am scared of flying so the exotic holidays are out. Still, we are more than happy with our wins and look forward to getting the post each day! We're still keeping our fingers crossed for a car (or a motorbike/scooter for me) but love these bits that make life a little easier.

I am elated, yet again. In just over a year I have now won, 2 Tickets to Goodwood festival of Speed, 2 tickets to Alexandra Burke @ MTV, £250 Cheque, the Metro competition winner for a year's free LA Fitness Membership and now, the icing on the cake. Last week I had a call on the day of the Family Fortunes Competition Closing date and I've won £5000, A year's supply of Odeon Vouchers (£500) and a camcorder. I am getting married next week and thanks to you guys, the enjoyment will be far far greater…
