First of all, some happy news - it's less than two weeks until it will be light until after seven o'clock in the evening.

Now, if you're feeling adventurous you might enjoy the sled-riding experience in Wales, being pulled by an enormous husky dog. I've had a go at this as a child with my pet sheep and as long as he didn't try to get behind us to follow, it was really good fun. Poor Ali Baa Baa - the games we tried to play with him.

Slightly more grown up and dignified is the weekend break in the Peak District worth over £1,000. The hotel is right next to Chatsworth House and has just had a £3.5 million face-lift so it sounds very grand and luxurious.

And now the evenings are getting lighter, it's lovely to spend time outside just pottering. There are some really pretty planters to win today that would be perfect for a little herb garden.

But for me, at least, the best prize is a pair of Sanderson/John Lewis armchairs worth over £2,300. They look like they will last forever (well perhaps not with my children) but they are heirlooms of the future for sure.
